It was my laurel, Mistress Caitlin, who inspired this haunting ballad.
At Highland War in AS XLVI, around the Cliar Cu Buidhe campfire, she challenged all in attendance to return for the Halloween bardic circle at Great Western War with a piece concerning ‘what your persona is afraid of.’ Dutifully, I researched the ghouls and evil spirits of Angharat’s homeland, until I discovered Cadair Idris, and was captivated by the mountain’s rich lore.
I submitted this piece as a composition entry (apprentice level) in Caid’s 2013 Pentathlon, and later performed it for Lyondemere’s 2013 Arts & Sciences Championship Competition. Most recently, I performed the ballad at Highland War – where it was first conceived – for round two of the 11th Bard of Caid competition.

I am honored to have had a little bit to do with this piece, which I love. It’s wonderful stuff.
